Blogging or writing about something can be a hobby or a career. All of us have a friend or two who has an online presence of some sorts. People write to show their emotions, to raise their voice against something that is wrong, to opine about something, to get paid etc. Writing, for some people, is an adventure into their fantasy-land, the virtual world where everything is possible. For writing, you need a paper (blog post) and finding that paper or notebook of papers (website) sometimes can be tricky.

But, if you can manage a hosting provider yourself, you can install a WordPress blog and customize it to your needs. You can get almost anything done on your self-hosted WordPress blog.
  3. Tumblr - It is most popular with people from photography and artistic background. It is a free blog.
  4. SquareSpace - It is a website creation platform for small-to-medium businesses. It is not free.
  5. Medium - It is one of the newest entrant to the blogging community.
  6. Weebly - It is a free-to-premium website creation platform.
  7. LiveJournal - It is a blogging website with free and premium accounts and free accounts get advertisements.
  8. Wix - It is a free-to-premium website creation cloud-based platform.
  9. HubPages - Another free platform to start a blog.
  10. Postach.io - It is a premium site to create your website.
  11. Blog - It is a free-to-premium blogging platform.
  12. Ghost - Simple blogging platform.
  13. Svbtle - A blogging platform designed to help you think.
  14. Sett - A simple blogging platform crafted for maximum automated publicity.
